British Citizenship Solicitors London

IAA-regulated British citizenship advisers with offices at 124 City Road, London and Arena Business Centre, Farnborough. We advise on naturalisation, the three-year spouse route, registering children, citizenship by descent, right of abode and refused applications.

How we work on citizenship cases

British Citizenship Advisers in London and Farnborough

Worldwide Immigration Ltd advises on every route to British citizenship — naturalisation, the shorter spouse route, registration of children, citizenship by descent and right of abode. We are regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority under reference F201900032, with offices in central London and Hampshire.

Most citizenship applications do not need an adviser. The ones that go wrong usually did.

What we actually do

A citizenship instruction is mostly diligence, not drafting. The application form itself is not hard. What is hard is establishing, before you spend £1,839, that you will pass.

Eligibility assessment

We check every requirement against your actual circumstances: your status and how long you have held it, your residence, your absences, good character, English and Life in the UK. If you are not eligible yet, we tell you the date you will be, rather than taking the fee and filing anyway.

Absence audit

We reconstruct your travel history from your passports and count it properly — the whole qualifying period, and the final twelve months separately. Miscounted absences are among the most common causes of refusal, and the easiest to catch in advance.

Route check

Before anything else, we confirm you need to naturalise at all. People with a British parent or grandparent are sometimes already British citizens by descent, in which case the answer is a passport application, not a £1,839 naturalisation. We would rather give you that answer than take the larger fee.

Good character advice

Where there is a conviction, caution, fixed penalty, period of overstaying, or a discrepancy between what was declared to HMRC and to the Home Office, we advise candidly on how it will be viewed and how to present it. Disclosure with a proper explanation is usually survivable. Non-disclosure discovered later is treated as deception and can bar an application for ten years.

Preparation and submission

Document review, referee checks, the online application, and written representations where the case needs them.

Refusals

There is no right of appeal against a refusal of naturalisation. We review the decision letter and advise on the realistic options — reconsideration, usually within 28 days; judicial review where the decision is unlawful or irrational; or a fresh application once the underlying problem is fixed.

Routes we cover

  • Naturalisation, five-year route — adults with indefinite leave to remain or settled status
  • Naturalisation, three-year spouse route — partners of British citizens, with no twelve-month wait after settlement
  • Registration of children — including children born in the UK whose parents later settled
  • Citizenship by descent — confirming an entitlement you may already hold
  • Right of abode — certificates of entitlement for eligible Commonwealth citizens
  • No Time Limit applications — converting an older ILR endorsement to current digital status
  • Refusals and reconsiderations

How we work

  1. Initial assessment. We establish which route applies and whether you are eligible now, later, or already British.
  2. Evidence review. Passports, status documents, absence history, test results, referees.
  3. Preparation. We complete the application and prepare representations on anything that needs explaining.
  4. Submission and follow-up. Filing, the biometric appointment, and correspondence with the Home Office through to decision.
  5. Ceremony and passport. Guidance through the ceremony and the passport application that follows.

Why regulation matters here

Immigration advice in the UK is a regulated activity. It is a criminal offence to provide it without being regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority or a designated qualifying regulator. Worldwide Immigration Ltd is IAA-regulated under reference F201900032.

Whoever you instruct, check their registration before you hand over documents or money. The IAA maintains a public register, and GOV.UK has a "find an immigration adviser" service. This is not a formality — unregulated advisers are a persistent problem in this sector, and the consequences of bad citizenship advice fall on you, not on them.

Talk to us

An initial discussion costs nothing and will usually tell you three things: which route applies, whether you are eligible yet, and whether there is anything in your history that needs handling before you file.

Frequently Asked Question

  • Do I need a solicitor to apply for British citizenship?
No. You can apply yourself, and many people do so successfully. The value of an adviser is in establishing that you will pass before you spend £1,839 on a fee that is not refunded if the application fails.
  • Are you regulated?
Yes. Worldwide Immigration Ltd is regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority under reference F201900032. Immigration advice is a regulated activity in the UK and it is a criminal offence to provide it while unregulated — always check any adviser's registration.
  • Where are your offices?
124 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, and 5th floor, Arena Business Centre, Abbey House, 282 Farnborough Road, Farnborough GU14 7NA. We advise clients across the UK and overseas, in person, by telephone or by video call.
  • What happens in an initial consultation?
We establish which of the five citizenship routes applies to you, whether you are eligible now or at a future date, and whether anything in your history needs handling before you file. If you are not eligible yet, we tell you when you will be.
  • Can you help if my application has already been refused?
Yes. There is no right of appeal against a refusal of naturalisation, so the options are reconsideration — usually within 28 days — judicial review where the decision is unlawful or irrational, or a fresh application once the problem is fixed. We review the decision letter and advise on which applies.
  • Can you tell me if I am already British?
Yes, and we check this before anything else. People with a British parent or grandparent are sometimes already British citizens by descent, which means a passport application rather than a naturalisation fee. We would rather give you that answer than take the larger fee.
  • Do you handle applications for children?
Yes. Children under 18 register as British citizens rather than naturalise, usually on form MN1. Some children are entitled to registration and for others it is discretionary — we advise on which applies and prepare the application.
  • How long does the whole process take?
The Home Office aims to decide naturalisation applications within six months. After a grant you attend a citizenship ceremony, normally within three months, and can then apply for a British passport. Preparation time before filing depends on how readily your evidence comes together.
